Eureka Enviro Steamer vs Bissell Steam Mop

The Eureka Enviro Steamer and the Bissell Steam Mop are both very popular steam mops. They are also priced similarly but when they go head to head, is one a better option than the other? Let's take and look and find out!

Build/Design

These two steam mops are actually quite different in design. The Eureka is more lightweight than the Bissell, weighing 5.4 lbs to the Bissell's 9 lbs.  The Eureka Enviro Steamer has a wider cleaning path of 12.5 inches while the Bissell is only 9 inches wide.   The mop head on the Bissell Steam Mop is low profile while the Eureka is high profile because of the location of it's water tank.  Low profile is more ideal because you can get under cabinets and furniture easier for cleaning.

Water Tank

The Eureka Enviro Steamer has a water tank that is about 20 ounces while the Bissell Steam Mop holds about 17.5 ounces. The location of the water tank is different on each mop. The Eureka has a water tank located in the mop head while the Bissell has a removable water tank located in the handle/body area of the mop.  The Bissell requires a filter which is an additional expense since it is suppose to be changed every three months.

Performance

Both mops perform good and have plenty of positive customer reviews however there were some complaints of the Bissell leaving too much water on the floor.  It should be noted that although it does clean, the Bissell doesn't heat up hot enough to sanitize floors.  The Eureka Enviro Steamer on the other hand heats to a temperature of 220 degrees, hot enough to clean and sanitize.  If you are looking for a steam mop that will clean and kill the germs and bacteria on your floor, go with the Eureka Enviro Steamer and skip the Bissell Steam Mop.

Price

Both are moderately priced steam mops that retail for around $80 although you can get them cheaper at Amazon, plus you will get free shipping.

Mop Pads

Both the Bissell and the Eureka comes with two mop pads but the design of the pads and the way they go on mop varies.  The pads for the Eureka are cloth while the Bissell's are microfiber.  The Bissell mop pads fit on and tie around the mop head while the Eureka has clips on either side to attach the mop pads with.

Cord

The Eureka Enviro Steamer has a 20 foot cord, the Bissell Steam Mop has an 18 foot cord. Neither one is particularly long but they are pretty standard lengths for steam mops and an extension cord can remedy that if you have large rooms to mop.

Summing it Up: Eureka Enviro Steamer vs Bissell Steam Mop - Which is the Best Steam Mop?

Because of it's sanitizing abilities, the Eureka Enviro Steamer is the best steam mop in my opinion. Though both have high ratings from customers and are priced similiarly, the Eureka does a more thorough job of cleaning floors than the Bissell.
